About UX
Project Intro.
Sustain Health is a Chinese medicine and acupuncture clinic in Melbourne that is known for its special attention to women's fertility. As well as natural fertility therapy, they also assist in IVF to improve women's fertility rates. The goal of this project is to grow Sustain Health's business.
Challenge
Sustain Health was represented throughout the project by a health industry project manager. In the communication, we found that the project manager's views on the project were different from the outline, but since we couldn't contact the client, we decided to balance the two.
My point of view
The group as a whole has no knowledge of Chinese medicine or acupuncture, except for my relevant cultural background. In my opinion, this is not a big deal. In our team meeting, I said, "the biggest benefit is that you don't know Chinese medicine. so you have empathy to bring user-centred thinking into the project, "if you were a pregnant woman, what should Sustain Health tell you?"

About UI
My Job
As one of six members in this project, I contribute to four phases, including Desktop Research, Behaviour Research, Interviews, Affinity Map, Competitor Analysis, Ideation Workshop, and Prototype.
Aim
As a result of customer research, we have set three main goals:
Give customers a clear picture of the pregnancy journey, and tell them how to assist the plan.
Build their trust in Chinese medicine by explaining how acupuncture and Chinese medicine work.
Give customers different treatment options and explain the pros and cons.
My main responsibility is the second goal.
My point of view
IVF which incorporates Chinese medicine and acupuncture is a standard treatment in many countries, especially in Asia, but is still a relatively new medical theory in Australia. In order to improve customer awareness, we must first look for answers from these aspects.
How much do customers know about acupuncture? Why do they not believe in it? What are they most concerned about?
How do TCM/acupuncturists in the industry address these concerns of patients?
How does TCM/acupuncture work?
Wireframe idea
My idea came from a doll model commonly used by acupuncturists and was completed in Figma. I intentionally blurred the sex of the dolls and used a cartoon image to convey the concept of acupuncture and moxibustion in acupoints. Then we improved the Chinese herbal medicine content.
While there is still much room for improvement in layout design, this initial concept makes our team stand out from other teams and become the most appreciated scheme by our customers.
Project Fragments
At the beginning of the project, we are prepared for the pressure of having to compete with a team that has three times as much experience as us.
Additionally, we have encountered a number of challenges, such as difficulty finding people who are willing to be interviewed about this sensitive topic, involving deep medical knowledge, and differing opinions between the project manager and the stakeholder.
Still, our team is very united and efficient. When another team propose to increase the budget by a considerable amount, we come up with innovative, effective and efficient ways to use the existing resources. At the same time, we also introduced the concept of marketing planning, which was well received by customers.
