Supplement Project
2017-2020
Aibio, an Australian health products supply company, owns raw materials and production chain and provides OEM services of health products for the Asian market. At the time when I was responsible for import and export services at my firm, I was assigned to Aibio to design OEM packaging for their product lines.
About
Project Intro.
Aibio as an Australian start-up company, originally based in Melbourne, hired me to design a brand-new health product for entry into the Chinese market based on their existing capacity and production capacity. Having learned about their production technology, I conducted thorough market research, provided some product direction references, and created a brand-new health brand called Alpha Shaper.
Challenge
There is only a vague idea my client has for making a health product to enter the overseas market, but they don't know what to do, how to do it or what the market conditions are like. The team support was insufficient at the beginning of the project, so I had to assume all responsibilities. This was my first exposure to medicine, biotechnology, and the food industry, which was a cross-disciplinary project.
What's more
I have been involved in a lot of start-up projects in the past. Communication and decision-making are vital when working with limited funds, limited staff, and unclear project objectives.
AIBIO's project covered medical treatment, health food, biotechnology, product design, production, import/export, and marketing. The project lasted for four years. The team of two people grew to a team of a dozen people as we progressed in learning.
The product was successfully unveiled at the 2020 Shanghai World Import and Export Expo. Our booth was visited by the Australian Consul in Shanghai.
